Three Days in Denver

Denver Aquarium

Denver Aquarium

The other week my lover and I went to Denver for his birthday. Usually we split our time there between my friends house and a hotel. The last two times we just booked a room at the Ramada Inn on Colfax. This place is decently priced and right downtown you can't beat the location. Since we planned to be walking mostly this worked perfect for us. Day 1 we went to the Denver Aquarium  It cost $25 per adult and the wait line was long!!! For some reason they thought it would be a good idea to have the wait line be outside under a small tent? I don't know about you but end of March in Denver is still somewhat cold, to say the least we froze our butts off. Once we were inside it was magical, if you haven't already definitely check it out! After walking all of this you can imagine we were hungry. I wouldn't suggest eating at the aquarium restaurant unless you planned to splurge or in our case we are both vegetarians and my boyfriend is allergic to shell fish.  While we are in Denver we love to check out new vegan cafes and coffee shops. Lucky for us we found City Oh City , they have the best Vegetarian options EVER and the vibe is great! From here on out if I'm in Denver I  will be going to this place to eat no matter what. Day 2 we decided to check out the Nature and Science Museum which in my personal opinion is not really worth $35 a person unless you are a child on a field trip. We learned this quick and in all about 45 min we had seen it all and were leaving. At least we can say we have been

there :) Not to mention the parking is ridiculous and you are better off walking the mile through City Park and leaving your car there for free like we did. After this was lunch and we checked out a place called Pizzeria Locale  which was refered to us by some friends. This place is pretty cool, you get to watch them make the dough and all the pizzas are 11'' which is kind of nice :)  We always hit up Cheba Hut  and literally any coffee shops along the way. Since it was our second to last night in town and my boyfriend is obsessed with games we decided to head to Lucky Strike  this place has everything from bowling to corn hole, an open bar, and the food isn't bad either.  Day 3 started out a little rough. We shut down Lucky Strike the night before and made plans to attend the first tour of the Molly Brown Museum at 10 Am. This was actually the highlight of our trip. The history behind this house is amazing and the fact that they have been able to collect so many of Molly Brown's personal items over the years is mind blowing. Most of us know Molly Brown as a survivor from Titanic but she is so much more than that. Did you know they didn't even call her Molly Brown until after she had passed? If you love history or just the story of "Molly Brown" in general you will absolutely love visiting her house :) There are a lot of cool things to do in Denver, the possibilities seem endless. Next time we plan to go to the Denver Art Museum and the History of Colorado Center along with more awesome places to eat and of course coffee shops :) Thank you for reading and enjoy your weekend!
